The Gemini Bros

You don’t have double vision, they really are twins!

2013 was a strong year for Bucharest-based producers/remixers & DJs, Ionut and Razvan. In June, they sold out their 12” vinyl release on the almighty No More Hits vol. 24 EP. The end of the year was marked with their triumphant two dance-floor killer EPs on ISM Records (‘Jocko’ and ‘Jeckermich’) with remixes from Faze Action and Pete Herbert. These milestones tell you all you need to know about how well they are regarded. And these initial releases are only part of the picture! Remixes for the Beat Broker on Bear Funk Records (which featured in February 2014 Mixmag 8/10 note) and Buzz Compass on Glenview Records again show the respect these guys have inspired in fellow artists, fans and press.

2014 proved to be an even more exciting year, with the release of the brilliant EP ‘Jeraldine Affaire‘ on the Canadian Homebreakin Records which featured a superb remix from the one and only Neighbour. This masterpiece generated a great response including a fantastic review in DJ Mag Italy plus huge support from their contemporaries. Over 2014 the Gemini Brothers remixed tracks for artists – including HiEM on their huge hit ‘Freaky Nights’, out on NANG; Quentin Quatro http://www.junodownload.com/products/quentin-quatro-quatrophonic/2455607-02/; Dimitri Veimar (Startalk International) https://pro.beatport.com/label/startalk-international/22191; Tronik Youth (Nein Records) https://soundcloud.com/neinrecords; Shindu (Silhouette Music) https://soundcloud.com/silhouettemusic; and Future bones (Tici Taci) http://www.junodownload.com/products/future-bones-dirty-profit/2577328-02/. Their work appeared on some of the scenes most talked about underground labels including Amsterdam’s Silhouette Music and London’s Nein Records. Support for the Gemini Brothers’ work has come from some of the most innovative and respected DJs in the business including Andrew Weatherall (ALFOS), Richard Norris, Ewan Pearson, Psychemagic, Eskimo Twins, Leftside Wobble, Pete Herbert and Brioski.
